Abruy's Homestay

Enjoy the hospitality of a warm Uzbek family: husband, wife and four young children. Traditional supper and breakfast. Stroll the yard with cows and fruit trees at the foot of the Zarafshan mountains, while enjoying a view over the Samarkand plain. “Abruy's homestay” is a great way to see how people in rural Uzbekistan live. Don’t expect luxury bathrooms, air conditioning or modern comforts! Instead, expect authenticity. We live like our ancestors and co-villagers. No shower, but pouring water from a traditional can (obdosta). No toilet seat, but a traditional outhouse with a squatty. An experience that you will never forget! We are 45 kilometers south-west of Samarkand on the highway Samarkand-Qarshi. If you need transport from Samarkand (hotel, airport, railway station, Qarshi krug), let me know and I will pick you up (costs apply). We are very close to "David's cave", a holy place high on the mountain, that can be reached by climbing 1400 stair treads. You can book this excursion with me (costs apply).
