"About Me I am a young professional living in Dallas, Texas, and I enjoy creating a warm and welcoming home. I am friendly, clean, and easygoing. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, crafting, exploring new places, working out and spending time experiencing the many things Dallas has to offer. As a host, I want my guests to feel like they are staying in a home rather than just renting a room. I enjoy getting to know people from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures, traditions, and everyday lives. My Home My home is in the Dallas area, in Oak Lawn/the Medical District, which is a convenient and lively part of the city. The neighborhood offers a combination of residential living, restaurants, cafés, shopping, entertainment, and outdoor activities. The Katy Trail is nearby and provides a great place to walk, exercise, or simply enjoy the outdoors. The home has shared common areas including a living room, kitchen and bathroom. Guests will have their own private, furnished bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed, television, and couch. I work during the week, and outside of work I enjoy cooking, reading, crafting, and exploring Dallas. I also enjoy going out to restaurants and experiencing the social atmosphere around Oak Lawn and other parts of the city. Our Language & Cultural Hosting Experience One of the things I am most excited about is giving guests the opportunity to experience everyday American life from a local perspective! I anticipate the chance to practice English naturally through everyday conversations, like preparing a meal, talking about our day, exploring the neighborhood, or discussing American culture, music, food, work, and traditions. What I Gain From Hosting For me, hosting is a two-way cultural exchange. While I can help my guests practice English and learn about American life, I also look forward to learning about their country, culture, food and traditions. I believe some of the best cultural learning happens through ordinary conversations and shared experiences rather than simply visiting tourist attractions. My hope is that guests leave with not only stronger English skills, but also meaningful memories, a better understanding of American culture, and a connection to someone they met while traveling. I would love for my home to be a place where guests feel comfortable asking questions, practicing English, trying new foods, exploring Dallas, and experiencing what life in Texas is like.
