I have a unique room just for you, so no other guests will bother you during your stay. Located at the west area of Kyoto city, you can enjoy views of the city, and the nearby mountains, along with amazing sunrises, sunsets and the views of the city at night. In the house, there is a grand piano and a gym corner. Please feel free to use them. Shower is available 24hs. The nearest bus stop is 3minutes on foot. There is a supermarket, convenience store and drug store all within a 15minutes walk through a beautiful park. The University restaurant and bakery is 5minutes away by foot. A popular, local hot spring with a sauna is 3minutes away by bus. Parking is available if you come by car. The downtown area is 30minutes away by bus and local train stations serving both Kyoto and Osaka are even closer. I am a retired university professor and look forward to having conversations with my dear guests and can do so in English, Japanese and Chinese. I will help you become immersed into this ancient capital of Japan during your stay and look forward to helping make your visit full of wonderful experiences! It is my intention to bring you peace and calmness every day during your stay! We are excited to offer a mini cooking class beginning in October 2026. Being an advanced Koji specialist, I would like to share some basic knowledge on Koji, miso and how to cook with Koji Please tell me if you want to take this mini class before your arrival. Further details are listed in House Rules, item 14th.

- Please be aware that if a guest arrives feeling unwell, or becomes sick while staying here and does not inform me, I will feel inclined to immediately decline your stay. Beyond this, if you choose not to disclose this, it not only can lead to a loss of money, be a great inconvenience to you, but potentially damage your credibility. So, please talk to me as soon as possible, so we can discuss the situation in a timely and appropriate manner.
- 2. Smoking & alcoholic drinks are not allowed.
- 3. Please keep our home secure, lock doors and turn off electricity when leaving the house.
- 4. Please do not bring other people into our house.
- 5. Please respect our home and dog as well, but feel comfortable.
- 6. You can use microwave and fridge for free. Gas is not available.
- 7. Please keep quiet after 9pm.
- 8. Please separate the trash according to the rules in Japan.
- 9. Please keep the bedroom, bathroom and shower room clean. Shower is available for 24h, bath is not available.
- 10. Doing laundry need additional fees. (500yen for once, we will do it for you including folding clothes)
- 11. Please keep the house key in a safe place. Change of door lock may cost you a lot if you lose the key.
